Basically everything went fine. But there were unpleasant moments when receiving and returning the car. After booking on the site, I was contacted via WhatsApp by a car rental company from the UAE. I asked to send a photo of my documents, the address of issue and return of the car and flight numbers of arrival and return departure. I booked pickup and drop off at Al Maktoum Airport. Specified the time of issuance and return of the car on the site. He also confirmed the time of issuance and return of the company's car to the lessor - they confirmed that the car would be at the airport at the specified time. But the courier brought the car for 1.5 hours. Later. Before returning the car a day in advance, the lessor asked to confirm the time and place of return via WhatsApp. I confirmed - 5.00AM, Al Maktoum airport. He also pointed out that my departure was at 7.00AM and that the delay of the courier to return the car was highly undesirable. The company confirmed that it received this information (I can send correspondence if interested). But no one came to the airport in the morning to process the return of the car. I had to leave the car key in the car key box that was installed in the registration window of one of the car rental companies located at the airport. I took a picture of the box and its location, and the car in the airport parking lot - I sent the companies on WhatsApp with a description of the situation. After arriving in the country of residence, the company's courier contacted me via WhatsApp asking where to find the key at the airport - I sent him again a photo and a box at the airport. After 2 hours, I contacted the company - they confirmed to me that the car was safely picked up from the airport and the car return process was completed and the deposit blocked on my card would be returned within 30 days from the day the car was returned. Here is such a story. 4. - Also, the car was issued with a battery in the remote control with an immobilizer that had almost lost its charge. Didn't notice right away. The first day I had to start the car close to bring the remote control to the start button. And lock and unlock the car with a mechanical key. I contacted the company's support - they reported the battery model and sent a video instruction on how to replace it. But it turned out that the battery model number was reported incorrectly - I had to buy another one.🙂

Having arrived on vacation in the UAE at the end of February 2023, I decided to rent a car and travel around the neighboring emirates and Dubai itself. Before that I read the forums on how and through what company to rent a car (the difficulty was mainly in the absence of a credit card working in the UAE to make a deposit and the search for companies working with Russian cards). I had a choice between two car rental companies but after comparing prices I settled on LocalCarHires.com. I booked a car with the delivery to the hotel the next day, receiving and returning the car after 1.5 weeks passed without any problems (upon receipt and delivery, I and a representative of the local rental company, each on his phone took the car inside and outside checked the mileage and the amount of gasoline and I paid the passage of the UAE toll roads in the end). But since I didn't have a valid credit card, I paid the deposit in cash in the amount of 1500 dirhams. The local rental company had promised a refund in 3 weeks to my bank account or via money transfer. When I returned home and waited for my deposit to be refunded, I wrote to the local rental company representative about the deadline to send me my deposit. I gave them my bank account number (Raiffeisenbank accepts SWIFT transfers from UAE) and the second way through a money transfer system CONTACT (there are also points of acceptance in the UAE). But then the local company in the chat messaging on messaging that send via SWIFT to Russia will not work, and the system KONTAKT they do not know and can only offer Western Union (which does not accept remittances to Russia). In my correspondence with them passed 10 days and finally my annual question "When will I get my deposit refund?" and the answer of the local rental company "We are dealing with this problem. The dialogue for a refund came to a standstill. So I decided to seek help from LocalCarHires.com, the company through which I had booked my car from a local. After my explanation of the problem with the refund of the deposit, the support service contacted the local rental company and within three days, the local company returned the deposit to me (via money transfer system CONTACT, there are many money transfer offices in the UAE, including the popular Al Ansari Exchange network available in almost all malls). In my situation, the fact that I booked a car through a major rental company did not allow the locals to wash out my deposit.

everything went perfectly. we stood for a long time at passport control on arrival, picked up the car an hour later than it was specified when ordering. as agreed in advance, we paid the remaining amount in cash. we filled out a rental form, photographed the car from the outside and inside for all the chips and scratches, gasoline level. We asked how to leave the parking lot, the man showed us the receipt, we attached it to the parking lot, paid 13 dirhams for the previous day (apparently the car was brought there in advance). there were no problems with refueling. our navigator also worked well everywhere. by and large we needed the car to get from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and back, and to go to amusement parks with children, so we did not drive much. When we handed over the car we wrote to the operator on WhatsApp, he explained where to come and where to wait for the driver to pick up the car. when handing over the car we paid cash for the toll roads, there were no fines. we handed over the keys and flew home. we are very satisfied with the work of the rental company. we only have questions about the car itself, probably we should have chosen a better, newer and more expensive car from the beginning, it turned out a bit different from what we are used to. It seemed that the car was dirty, the windshield glass was a bit cloudy, as if oil, well, and the ride felt like the car had not been in service for a long time. for us it was not critical, as we did not plan to drive a lot, from hotel to hotel only, so we did not bother. next time we will choose a car of another brand, more expensive. A gps signal jammer is installed on the car !!!!!! in order to rent a navigator from them. I had my own navigator with all the points where I usually go .... I was offered a navigator for 200 dirhams. I refused. My sat nav couldn't pick up satellites in the car and I had to go outside, pick up satellites and drive to the hotel with my hand out the window... which is not safe. At the hotel, I wrote an angry message to the manager that if they did not turn off the jammer, I would report the intrusive service to the police! I was furious at such disrespect for customers, which looked like revenge for refusing to rent a navigator ... .. In the morning, the jammer was already turned off. I always take a car when I travel to different countries, but I have never seen anything like this, especially in the UAE, and it was the 15th trip. Previously, when I ordered a car through Emirates, I did not need to move from terminal to terminal by taxi to pick up or return the car.
