everything went perfectly! we had a slight misunderstanding with the delivery of the car - it was brought to a nearby hotel for some reason, but we figured it out, found each other, explained everything to us in an accessible way, signed the documents and parted. The only thing that was not very convenient was that the car was practically with an empty tank, but it was enough to get to the gas station, so everything was fine :) The driver's side mirror did not hold in the car, but we folded the piece of paper five times, put it between the casing and the mirror and that's it it was great :) otherwise the car is 100% working, I liked everything, what we paid for, we got it, and we paid very cheaply when compared with competitors! There was also a problem with the fact that the car did not come to the hotel either, but we successfully found each other again, the car was checked and we parted, everything ended well. Despite some unfortunate coincidences, I am very pleased and plan to contact you next year if we are in the same region! thanks for your work!

For Russians it is very convenient that there is an opportunity to pay cash for the rental. We got a slightly scratched car, and I was worried that there would be problems when returning it (although all the scratches were included in the contract). But everything went fine, there were no complaints. The car turned out to be quite roomy and passed quite well even quite difficult areas with a sharp rise. I hope that I will use this service again.

We ordered a Fiat car, but we got a similar Hyundai Accent with 155000 km of mileage. We were a little worried as we were taking the car for a long trip of 2000 km through the cities of Turkey. However, Hyundai did not let us down - diesel, fast and powerful car in excellent condition, roomy and comfortable - carried 4 people with suitcases through the country. The car cost us very little - 335$ for 12 days + deposit of only 50$. This amount included insurance full CASCO + (from everything in general) and delivery of the car to the hotel and pickup from the hotel (50$). We paid in cash, which is also very convenient for Russians. Be ready that 50$ of deposit will be fully paid for the toll roads and fines. The car is equipped with an electronic toll road pass system - you don't have to pay anything, you pass automatically, the bills come to the rental office. There are small questions about the service - we ordered a car with delivery to the hotel at 9 am. In the evening the manager contacted us on WhatsApp and tried to persuade us to take the car in the evening, as in the morning traffic jams and they will not have time to deliver it by 9. But in the evening we could not take the car, so we agreed on the morning, taking into account the traffic jams - 11 am. As a result, the car was delivered at 1pm. I was in touch with the manager Turan all the time, and it is obvious that the problem of delay is not in traffic - he said that he left the office in our direction only at 10:20 am, although he should have taken into account the traffic and left earlier. Because of the late delivery, our entire travel plan was disrupted and we arrived in Izmir at night. The car was given to us with a blinking gas tank light. But otherwise, the managers are quick to respond on watsapp, answer questions, not nagging when returning the car. Despite some difficulties, I would like to recommend this company, the prices are very nice, the employees are polite and friendly, our car was in excellent condition.

I would like to share my impressions from my trip to Turkey in September 2024 and renting a car from TakeCars. I booked a Reno Clio with full insurance for 7 days on the TakeCars website. When booking on the website I paid part of the payment with a Russian card. On arrival the guys quickly met me at the airport, they spoke a little Russian + smartphone translator :). We got to the office in 10 minutes, while the documents were being processed, we were treated to coffee. The car was a Hunday i20, but from the same line, so we were happy. It never let us down, economical and reliable car. We drove straight away to Oludeniz, then along the coast to Kemer. The car was taken without problems and unnecessary questions. As a result we saw a lot of beautiful and extremely beautiful locations, beaches from Fethiye to Kash, butterfly bay, Saklikent canyon, Lycian trail, ancient amphitheaters and a lot of things along the way. You should definitely travel by car. I recommend TakeCars. Fast, budget and reliable!

What you should know before driving in Turkey
Turkey drives on the right. Roads are excellent, signs are duplicated in English, and international road markings apply — though the stop sign reads "DUR". Local drivers can be assertive, so stay calm and attentive. Speed limits: 50 km/h in towns, 90 km/h on rural roads, 120 km/h on motorways. Blood alcohol limit is 0.50 promille. Foreign drivers can use their home licence for up to 6 months (IDP required for non-Latin alphabet countries).

Toll roads
Turkey's motorways (otoyol) and all Bosphorus crossings are tolled electronically via HGS stickers — no cash accepted at the gates. Most TakeCars rental cars have HGS fitted; just tell your owner to activate it before your trip. Tolls are deducted from your deposit on return. Free alternative roads exist parallel to most motorways if you prefer to skip tolls.

Fuel and parking
Fuel costs around 55–63 TRY per litre (~$1.40 USD) for both gasoline and diesel. Stations (Petrol Ofisi, Shell, BP, Opet) are plentiful — most have attendants, and you can say "dolu depo" for a full tank. In Istanbul, use paid garages (10–20 TRY/hour) or free lots near shopping centres; on-street parking is managed by attendants in yellow vests. Coastal resorts have easier parking but it fills up in summer.

Insurance on TakeCars
Every car includes basic third-party liability (TPL) at no extra cost. You can upgrade to CDW, Super CDW, or Full Damage Waiver (FDW) for near-zero excess — cars with FDW are tagged "zero deposit." Staying connected
Three providers: Turkcell (best coverage for road trips), Vodafone, and Turk Telekom. Tourist SIMs cost 1,000–1,700 TRY (~€26–45) for 28 days — buy from official shops, not street sellers. Free Wi-Fi is available at airports, cafés, and shopping centres. Download offline maps before heading into mountain areas.
