We pushed the car to the nearest restaurant where, to our luck, there was an English-speaking employee. He summoned one of his friends with a car and they gave us a light. As the proceedings showed - the battery died due to opening the car door with the key (although the landlord insisted that I had forgotten to turn off the headlights - even if that was true, what kind of battery must the car have if it died in an hour with the headlights on)? Well the process of returning the car took a long time - waiting for it in the parking lot. good thing we weren't late for our flight
