I liked the service itself, conveniently chose the right car in the region of Bodrum, Turkey, paid the advance payment with a Russian card. But then not everything went so smoothly. The rental company delayed the car delivery for 2 hours, the car was not the one we had booked, it was dirty outside and inside, fuel was almost at zero. We checked in, drove out, soon an error appeared, we were shocked, we wrote to the rental company, to what they answered us: we gave you the car without an error, solve the problem yourself. In the end the error was tire pressure, we had to go to the service. The car fiat egia burns diesel as not in itself, on 700 km we spent 40 liters. Not economical car. And the conclusion of the review I will write that the change to us gave us such dollars, which were not accepted anywhere. With us worked employee named Burak. I do not recommend this company. Although we handed over the car without problems and quickly.

My impressions of the company are very good. I booked the car in advance, just before the trip I asked to increase the rental period by two more days, the guys kindly agreed. There were no complaints about the car, it was a fresh Renault Clio automatic. The guys picked me up at the airport and brought me to their office. Quickly inspected the car and signed the documents. I rented the car without deposit and with a child seat. At the end of the rental period I needed to extend the car for one more day - no problem! The return was very smooth and quick.

What you should know before driving in Turkey
Turkey drives on the right. Roads are excellent, signs are duplicated in English, and international road markings apply — though the stop sign reads "DUR". Local drivers can be assertive, so stay calm and attentive. Speed limits: 50 km/h in towns, 90 km/h on rural roads, 120 km/h on motorways. Blood alcohol limit is 0.50 promille. Foreign drivers can use their home licence for up to 6 months (IDP required for non-Latin alphabet countries).

Toll roads
Turkey's motorways (otoyol) and all Bosphorus crossings are tolled electronically via HGS stickers — no cash accepted at the gates. Most TakeCars rental cars have HGS fitted; just tell your owner to activate it before your trip. Tolls are deducted from your deposit on return. Free alternative roads exist parallel to most motorways if you prefer to skip tolls.

Fuel and parking
Fuel costs around 55–63 TRY per litre (~$1.40 USD) for both gasoline and diesel. Stations (Petrol Ofisi, Shell, BP, Opet) are plentiful — most have attendants, and you can say "dolu depo" for a full tank. In Istanbul, use paid garages (10–20 TRY/hour) or free lots near shopping centres; on-street parking is managed by attendants in yellow vests. Coastal resorts have easier parking but it fills up in summer.

Insurance on TakeCars
Every car includes basic third-party liability (TPL) at no extra cost. You can upgrade to CDW, Super CDW, or Full Damage Waiver (FDW) for near-zero excess — cars with FDW are tagged "zero deposit." Staying connected
Three providers: Turkcell (best coverage for road trips), Vodafone, and Turk Telekom. Tourist SIMs cost 1,000–1,700 TRY (~€26–45) for 28 days — buy from official shops, not street sellers. Free Wi-Fi is available at airports, cafés, and shopping centres. Download offline maps before heading into mountain areas.
