Car hire in Fethiye works across two distinct markets at the same time. One is the classic package holiday crowd — UK charter flights into Ölüdeniz or Hisarönü for a week. The other is the established British expat community in Çalış, Hisarönü and Ovacık, many of whom stay for months at a time. That’s why Fethiye runs all year round, unlike many other resorts on the coast.

DLM (Dalaman) is 50 km / 50 minutes from the centre via the D555 and D400 — the main airport for the area. Ölüdeniz is just 15 km away (20–25 minutes), Hisarönü 12 km, and Çalış Beach only 4 km from the centre.

Fethiye is compact, and the main attractions sit comfortably within a 100 km radius.
Ölüdeniz and Babadağ
Ölüdeniz is 15 km away. Belcekiz Beach and the Blue Lagoon remain the headline sight. Parking along the beach is ₺50–100 per day and fills up by 10 a.m. in summer — many people leave the car in Hisarönü and take the dolmuş down. Babadağ (1,969 m) is cable-car only.

Saklıkent and Tlos
Saklıkent (50 km / 45–60 minutes) is a dramatic canyon with a cold mountain river you can walk through in neoprene. Tlos lies 15 km further on — an ancient city with rock-cut tombs. Morning in the canyon, lunch on the wooden platforms above the water, then Tlos in the afternoon.

Butterfly Valley and Faralya
Butterfly Valley itself isn’t reachable by car. The options are a boat from Ölüdeniz (₺200–300 return, 45 minutes) or a steep walk down from Faralya. Any car can manage the road to Faralya. The final 2 km to Kabak is a dirt track, and most rental contracts forbid it.

En lugar de un Hyundai nos dieron un Renault, que estaba bien. El coche no es un Mercedes, ni siquiera un Skoda, pero era mejor que un taxi o un autobús. ¡Reunión conveniente en el aeropuerto todo está claro de acuerdo con el contrato sin engaño y así sucesivamente todas las preguntas contestadas teléfono para conectar ayudado! Una gran desventaja es dar un coche con el depósito vacío tal auto y en las personas en un país extranjero (sobre todo conociendo la industria del automóvil francés cuando la bombilla está encendida la gasolina puede agotarse en 5 km, no es un alemán en el que otro 50-60 km se puede conducir alrededor de la ciudad antes de que se pone de pie). Conociendo el clima local se puede dar alguna cosa como papel de aluminio para cerrar el parabrisas como los lugareños porque en 45⁰ bajo el sol no se puede tomar el volante)). También puedes poner un cargador de móvil desde el mechero. Alquilas coches a los rusos, estas mini cosas ya están pensadas en todos los países. Mira como las bicis las alquilan los propietarios de la CEI con cargador con funda en el asiento que no se calienta con el sol con macutos con casco, etc. Todo es comodidad extra. ¡Añade esto sube un poco el precio para cubrirlo y todos los clientes de cis son tuyos! Además reservar el pago con tarjeta rf es por supuesto una gran ventaja. Sólo por el hecho de que las grandes empresas que tienen un coche de clase superior pedir una tarjeta de crédito visa o master, que es difícil de emitir ahora en Rusia, le elegimos. Una tarjeta normal no es suficiente para todos. 3+ de 5. Sólo para el tanque vacío era un verdadero problema. Si no fuera por eso entonces 4+. Espero que haya sido un accidente aislado.

En alquiler de coches. Utilicé un Hyundai i20 de alquiler y me gustaría darles las gracias por la claridad de los plazos. No tuvimos que esperar en ningún sitio al arrendatario. Nos lo contaron todo. Mostraron máxima implicación el primer día de entrega del coche. Éramos 3 adultos y un niño. Las maletas como un mago todo ordenado y lo más rápido posible. Muy servicial. No hubo quejas durante el alquiler. Hubo 1 momento, pero rápidamente obtuvo una respuesta. También en el día en que el coche fue devuelto, el depósito fue devuelto / coche fue devuelto. Todo fue claro y al grano. Me encantaría volver a sus servicios en el futuro 👍🏻

Todo ha ido bien. El gerente llegó a tiempo. El coche fue entregado y recogido con prontitud. El Clio estaba agotado, así que nos dieron un renault taliant. No hubo problemas a la hora de devolver el coche. Gracias por el servicio conveniente. Todo era como se describe y al precio justo.

Todo fue genial con el alquiler. El coche estaba en perfectas condiciones. Lo único es que especificamos que teníamos que entregarlo a las 21:00, al final el coche no lo recogieron hasta las 22:30 aproximadamente.

Todo fue bien. El coche elegido estaba agotado, nos avisaron de ello y lo sustituyeron por un Renault Tailant. Me recibieron en el aeropuerto con un cartel y me acompañaron hasta el coche. Los documentos se rellenaron rápidamente. El precio no cambió. Hicimos un depósito. El coche está limpio y en buen estado. Cuando lo entregamos a la hora especificada, todo fue rápido. Inspeccionaron el coche y nos devolvieron la fianza. No se hicieron preguntas.
Fethiye is one of the best starting points for one of the finest coastal road trips in Turkey. It’s roughly 300 km to Antalya along the D400, normally spread over 5–7 days with stops. One-way drop-off at AYT costs €100–180.

A typical week looks like this: Fethiye → Patara (75 km — Roman city and an 18 km undeveloped beach) → Kalkan (boutique hotels and sunset terraces) → Kaş (Greek islands on the horizon) → Demre (St Nicholas’s Church and the Lycian rock tombs of Myra) → Olympos (the eternal flames of the Chimaera) → Antalya (Kaleiçi old town).
“Patara is the underrated stop. A vast beach with no development, an ancient city right beside it, and free entry. A full day there is non-negotiable.”
For the route, a compact or mid-range car with an automatic is ideal. The D400 west of Kemer has plenty of switchbacks, long climbs and hairpin bends — a manual can tire the clutch leg in the Taurus mountains. The most demanding sections are Kalkan–Kaş and Kaş–Demre.
