Everything went great—we booked a car right at the airport upon arrival in Turkey. Within an hour, they found us a car in the same class, and we set off on our trip in it. The car turned out to have great fuel economy (diesel engine), which was really nice ☺️. We drove about 2,000 km, visiting the cities we wanted to see and enjoying the views from the window) They accepted the car back quickly, even with the gnats that had gotten stuck on it during the trip)
