Rent a Volkswagen Polo

Without any doubt, this was the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. To begin with, when we arrived to collect the car, the vehicle we had booked wasn’t available. Instead, we were offered a completely different car. The only explanation we were given was that “the car is in the workshop.” If that’s the case, I don’t understand why it was still being advertised and available to book on your website. The employee at the office was very young and barely spoke English, so he couldn’t really help us. We had to wait while he called his manager, who arrived after midnight. We were left waiting for a long time instead of starting our journey. When the manager arrived, he repeated the same explanation and first offered us the car he had driven there, which was even less suitable. After we explained that it was nothing like the car we had paid for, he simply told us that we had no other option and offered us another colleague’s Volkswagen. Although it was also a Volkswagen, it was still completely different from the car I had booked. By then it was around 1:00 a.m., and after such a long wait, we were exhausted and had no choice but to accept it. To make things even worse, the car was handed over with almost no fuel at all. We had to find a petrol station immediately, despite the fact that the staff knew we still had a four-hour drive ahead of us to Sarandë. About three hours into the journey, the engine oil warning light suddenly came on. The car was low on engine oil. I immediately contacted the rental company but received no reply until the next morning, when someone finally woke up and simply sent me the location of a garage so that I could take the car to have oil added myself. Overall, this experience cost us valuable time during our holiday, caused unnecessary stress, and I ended up paying extra for a car that was not the one I had booked. I honestly feel that the service was completely unacceptable, and I would never rent through this company again or recommend it to anyone.
